Butcher's Stain

The Israeli film "Butcher's Stain" is nominated for Best Live-Action Short Film at the 2026 Oscars. We are thrilled to offer a screening at Temple Sinai on Tuesday, March 10, just a few days before the Academy Awards. The film was produced by Oron Caspi, the son-in-law of our members Sukey and Malcolm Denniss. "Butcher's Stain" tells the story of Samir, a Palestinian butcher working at an Israeli supermarket, who is accused of tearing down the Israeli hostage posters in the break room. He must prove his innocence in order to keep the job he desperately needs. Watch the trailer and join us on March 10. Free in the Social Hall.
