Merciful Conversations on Race

When Rev. Chontell Washington spoke at Temple Sinai's Shabbat service on MLK Weekend, she talked about the program, Merciful Conversations on Race, sponsored by the Rhode Island State Council of Churches. Many people expressed interest in bringing the program to Temple Sinai.

Merciful Conversations is a five-session program that addresses issues of racism in America, white privilege, and becoming an ally in the work of addressing racism. Participants are required to attend all five two-hour sessions.

We are now planning a Merciful Conversations program on Zoom for the Temple Sinai community beginning on the evening of, Tuesday, February 23. The program will meet for two hours at each of five sessions. The dates for all sessions are February 23, March 2, March 9, March 16, and March 23. We have not set the starting time for the program, but it is most likely to be from 7-9 PM.

There is a limit to the number of people who can participate. If you would like to participate, fill out the form below. The Rhode Island State Council of Churches charges faith institutions $40 per person for participating in the program. Temple Sinai will cover that charge for Temple Sinai members, but will gladly accept donations to cover the expense. We will charge the full amount for participants who are not Temple members.

    I'm interested...
