SinaiInclusion

At Temple Sinai, all can expect to exist as their authentic selves, whether at work or at worship. We are proud to be a community of all ethnicities, races, nationalities, sexual orientations and identities, gender expressions, ages, and abilities, and are open and welcoming to multifaith and interfaith families. We live by our Jewish values – the belief that every human being is created in the image of God (b’tzelem Elohim) – and uphold the dignity of every human being.

Temple Sinai is listed in the "Equality Directory" of Keshet, the national organization for LGBTQ equality in Jewish life.

Our community's Ethics Code is intended to protect us from harassment, bias and discrimination.

Inclusion Events
LGBTQ+ Shabbat
Our annual LGBTQ+ Shabbat honors the many identities that strengthen and beautify our community. The service features a panel of LGBTQ+ congregants who share their experiences and speak to the intersections of Judaism, gender, and sexuality. Together, we create a space for honest conversation, learning, and celebration. We also have a Whatsapp group of Temple Sinai’s LGBTQ+ congregants and allies, offering connection and support.
Re-Pro Shabbat
Re-Pro Shabbat is dedicated to exploring Judaism’s deep tradition of supporting reproductive rights, bodily autonomy, and ethical decision-making rooted in compassion. Through prayer, teaching, and open dialogue, we uplift the values that guide a Jewish commitment to justice. This service reflects our belief that protecting reproductive freedom is a sacred responsibility grounded in dignity and care for all.
Justice-Centered Programming
Throughout the year, we hold Shabbat programs focused on fighting injustice, supporting immigrant communities, advancing gender equality, and promoting racial equity. These services and workshops invite us to reflect on the intersections of Jewish tradition with contemporary social issues, grounding our activism in Torah, communal learning, and action. Whether through guest speakers, dedicated discussions, or ongoing educational opportunities, we strive to nurture a community that actively embodies our values of justice, compassion, and inclusion.
