KesherWorker

Picture
Hi there! My name is Katie Giardino, MSW. I’m part of Temple Sinai's Kesher team and the Clinical Case Manager for Jewish Collaborative Services. The Kesher program provides social workers to assist Temple members during periods of life transitions and struggle. Kesher also serves as a gateway to additional supportive services provided within both the Jewish and broader communities. Kesher workers are available to meet with congregants, families, and individuals for consultation, resource guidance, referrals for counseling, and just to talk. These services are all provided free of charge to congregants and on a confidential basis.

The Kesher program has been recently re-designed to meet the needs of the Jewish community more effectively and more widely. I will be serving as the main contact to Temple Sinai, so if you have any questions, concerns, or curiosities please reach out to me! The other team members serving Temple Sinai are Carol Wild (JCS Adoption Coordinator), and Tara Watkins (JCS Clinician in The Counseling Center). The Kesher team is supervised and supported by JCS Programs Manager Janelle Roussel and The Counseling Center’s Clinical Supervisor Laurie McNiff.

Our entire Kesher team wants to work continuously towards embodying the meaning of the Hebrew word kesher, which is "connection." Feel free to connect with me whenever you face a personal challenge, crisis, or just need someone to talk to. You can reach me at 401-331-1244 X338 or by emailing me at katie@jfsri.org. I'm available from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Mondays to Thursdays and from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays.
