Passover2020
This year's Passover is going to be a very different experience. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, it is not possible to celebrate the festival with people outside of our immediate households. We can derive strength and comfort knowing that we are helping to save lives in this way, but there is no denying that this is not the Passover we had hoped for.
Temple Sinai's in-person seder has been canceled to save lives. We will have an online seder for the second night of Passover on Zoom, the video conferencing platform that we are also using for services and educational programs during the crisis. This virtual seder is free and open to all friends of the Temple Sinai community. To participate, sign up below.
There are more resources below for celebrating Passover during social distancing, including a special Haggadah with commentary on the COVID-19 crisis by Rabbi Goldwasser. Please let the Rabbi know if you have any questions or seek additional resources or help.
We wish you a zisen Pesach, a sweet Passover, and hope for the pleasure of being together soon.

Passover Resources
“How is this Passover different from all other Passovers?” That may be the easiest question for us to answer, and also the hardest. This year’s Passover is going to be unlike any we have experienced before. We won't be able to have the large family gatherings that many of us love, unless we gather online. Here are some resources to help you and your family create a meaningful Passover experience during the COVID-19 crisis:
Temple Sinai's Haggadah for 5780: Celebrating Freedom During a New Plague. Rabbi Goldwasser has adapted the Haggadah we have used at our Second Night Seder over the past several years for a Seder conducted during social distancing. The Haggadah is a 31-page document you can print out at home and share with as many people as you like. In addition to the many favorite traditional songs and prayers, the Haggadah contains the Rabbi's commentary connecting the story of Passover to the current crisis.
Reform Judaism: "How to Make Your Virtual Seder Lively, Engaging, and Meaningful." This detailed article on the ReformJudaism.org website includes practical advice about choosing a Haggadah, music and videos to create the perfect Passover atmosphere for participants of all ages, and a guide through the order of the Seder.
Seder 2020. This website contains an impressive array of free online Haggadahs, advice on using video platforms to share your Seder with family and friends, recipes and other Passover food ideas, and a way to host or join a public Seder online.
Seder for One? Here is a simple guide called, "A Different Pesach: Ideas for the Solo Seder," that offers ideas for those who will be celebrating Passover alone or with just one or two other people.
